Panathinaikos U20, was clearly superior from their “counterparts” of PAS Giannena and prevailed in a fair and easy way 3-0, in an away match held in the Sports facilities of EPS Epirus, for the 19th match day of Super Leagues’ U20 championship.
Achieving their fifth victory in a row, the young players of Panathinaikos playing much better during the whole game than their opponents, scored one goal in the first half and two more during the second one! In the first period the “Greens” were pressing from the very beginning. The team of PAS had a rather defensive orientation and retained most of its players backwards.
Bouzoukis … warned them in the 17th minute by a strong shoot from a 25 meters distance which was stopped by … the right post of the goalpost. In the 35th minute, though, he scored a wonderful goal, from the same point, opening the score for our team! The home team had just a header in the 10th minute by Xenopoulos and nothing more than that.
In the second half the game was quite tense, without chances till the 60th minute. Afterwards Panathinaikos started up again prevailing in the pitch, creating chances in front of their opponent’s box. Finally, in the 76th minute, Valmas scored a second goal (2-0) after he got back a ball, rejected due to a frail save of the goalie in a foul executed by Angelopoulos!
Τhe final score (3-0) was done in the 91th minute by Angelopoulos.
A pitch in a deplorable condition and the strong wind complicated the efforts of both teams. In the 71st minute, Triantafyllopoulos was replaced, after being injured in the knee. The injury seems rather serious and he will be meticulously examined in the coming days.
