With an astonishing 2-3 away win over AS Roma, Panathinaikos progressed to the next round of the UEFA Europa League. Riise opened the score for the home team with a free kick (11′) but the “Greens” managed to equalise with a Cisse penalty in the 40th minute. Three minutes later, Ninis scored with a brilliant long distance shot and Cisse netted a third to seal Panathinaikos’ triumphant comeback before the end of the 1st half (45+2′). Roma scored with De Rossi in the 67th minute and produced the final score: AS Roma – Panathinaikos 2-3. In the UEFA Europa League round of 16, Panathinaikos will play against Royal Standard de Liege.
