Panathinaikos FC will play against Club Brugges in the third preliminary round of UEFA Champions League, with the first match being played in “Apostolos Nikolaidis” stadium.
“We meet once again with a team from Belgium and we will take them seriously. Panathinaikos FC is preparing from the beginning of the season for these matches. We learned our opponent today and we will be able to organize our plans better. Last year we weren’t so lucky and I hope that this will change this year”, said Takis Fyssas, football director of our Club.
“It was a draw where we would meet with five strong opponents. Club Brugges is a team that last year was in the quarterfinals of UEFA Europa League, won the Belgian Cup and finished first in the regular season of the Championship. No doubt, it’s a team with quality and we recently played against them so we know them. It’ s going to be two interesting matches and we must be very focused”, was the comment of the team’s coach, Giannis Anastasiou.
