Panathinaikos lost from Fenerbahce, 2-1 at “Şükrü Saracoğlu” stadium in its undeniably most “tough” friendly match, so far, with the Turks being opponents at a… Champions League level.
This loss comes, however, against the flow of the game, since the “Shamrock” had a good appearance, especially after the first 15 minutes of the game, creating and losing opportunities and generally showing to be on the right track, in order to present what Andrea Stramaccioni is asking for.
The hosting team was ahead in the score from the verybeginning. Just in the 3rd minute, when Emenike went to the back of Panathinaikos’ defense, passed Ivanov and passed the ball off Steele, scoring the first goal.
Twenty minutes later, the “Greens” equalized, with Berg who transformed theexemplary large ball of Mesto into a goal, on the move. However, Fenerbahce “hit” on a counterattack,in the 54th minute, with Emenike again, who determined the final score 2-1.
