Panathinaikos presented a disheartening image during the whole game against Levadiakos, without threatening its rival at all and remained in a nil-all draw in a match held at “Ap. Nikolaidis” stadium for the 18th match day of Super League’s championship.
The intention of the guest team was absolutely defensive during the whole game, which meant that a total of 10 players were behind the ball. However, the “Greens” couldn’t take advantage of the ball possession they had and were unable to create chances to score and win the match. This was the situation during all the match even though in the first period the hosting team passed the ball easier and faster close to Namasko’s box. Of course they didn’t succeed to create any usual chance to score either because there weren’t so many players in the opponents box or due to wrong passing.
In the second half, Panathinaikos didn’t strive at all, showing much more difficulties to threaten the opponent team. Even though two strikers entered the game, after the entrance of Rinaldi, the image didn’t change. The match was in its 65th minute, when the “Shamrock” had a clear chance as a header by Berg passed slightly higher the crossbar.
The great opportunity of the match was lost by the guests as Vlachodimos stopped the ball in a confrontation he had with Vangelis Mantzios, in the 71st minute. From then on the match continued without any other chances, except two shoots by Rinaldi, which were stopped by the opponent goalkeeper, so the nil-nil draw remained as such till the end of the match.
This new loss of points, in a home match, this time, left Panathinaikos aback in the scoreboard, creating a big concern for its sporting image.
