Panathinaikos missed the chance to stay at the top of the league table in Toumba, after falling to PAOK’s goalkeeper, who kept his team alive. Paying for two moments on the counter-attack, the Greens were beaten 2-1 in a game that could have had a completely different outcome.
PAOK found the net at 43′ through Despodov, the Greens equalised at 52′ through a penalty by Bakasetas, who scored for the first time for Panathinaikos but the hosts made it 2-1 again through Despodov at 56′. Bakasetas, Mladenovic and Jedvaj missed great chances during the last minutes to equalise.
