A great Panathinaikos played with passion, plan and good strategy and celebrated an important victory in Thessaloniki against the local team of PAOK. Although the Greens were losing at the beginning they got back and won by 1-2 remaining at the top of the Super League. Ivan Jovanovic’s players achieved six victories in six matches having an unstoppable Aitor again as he was the player who scored both goals for the Greens, making a total of seven goals in the championship!
In the 18th minute Oliveira, PAOK’s Portuguese striker, opened the score by a shoot after getting an inspired assist by Augusto. Panathinaikos’ players didn’t lose their confidence after letting that goal in and entered in the second half willing to overcome. They showed their intention very quickly as they draw in the 51st minute when Ruben passed the ball extremely well to Aitor who moved very quickly entered the area, dribbled the rival goalie and shot the ball straight to the rival nets.
In the 69th minute Sporar entered the rival box but was overthrown by Kotarski who instead of beating the ball beated Sporar’s face. Austrian referee Weinberger was informed by the VAR about the violation which he also watched at the video. He allowed a penalty which was executed by “specialist” Aitor who scored for a second time in the 73rd minute making the score 1-2, giving Panathinaikos its sixth victory in six duels.
