Marinos Ouzounidis has signed a one and a half year contract with the Club.
Hestarted his carrier as a coach in 2004, training Kapadokes Alexandroupolis, a team which competed in the fourth division. In 2005 he moved to Xanthi as assistant coach. The first important step in his training career was realized in 2006, when he joined APOEL.He stayed in Cyprus for two seasons and won the local Championship. In May 2008 he started training AEL (Larissa), completing his task in February 2010. In that year’s summer he was transferred to Heraklis, where he stayed until winter 2011. In summer 2011 he went back to Xanthi FC where he remained till September 2012, being hired again from December 2012 till the end of 2012-13 season. His next team was FC Platanias, in summer 2013 and then Ergotelis, in winter 2014, where he remained till the end of the season. In December 2014 he joined Panionios, staying in the team of Nea Smyrni until August 2016.
As a football player (central defender), Ouzounidis started his career in 1983, from the Academies of Ethnikos Alexandroupoleos . In 1986 he moved to Apollon Kalamarias and a year later he was transferred to Xanthi. He stayed there for five years, till he was acquired by Panathinaikos in 1992. Playing with the “Shamrock” he won two Championships ” (1995, 1996), three Greek Cups (1993, 1994, 1995), two Super Cups (1993, 1994) and arrived till the Champions League semi finals, in 1996. In summer 1997, after having played in 132 matches and having scored six goals in the Championship, he left Panathinaikos for the French team “FC Le Havre Athletic Club”. He stayed in France during two seasons and in 1999 he returned to Greece, for Paniliakos. In 2001 he went to Cyprus for APOEL, with which he celebrated, in 2002, both the Championship and the Super Cup. In 2003 he completed his career as a foot ball player.
