Panathinaikos FC announces the beginning of its collaboration with the Spanish coach Daniel Poyatos! The 42 year old coach has signed a two year contract.
His staff will be composed by assistant coach Marcel Sans Navarro, fitness coach Miguel Gomila Andreu and goalkeeper coach Josep Pascual Trabal.
Dani Poyatos was born in Barcelona on the 23rd of June 1978. He did his first steps as a coach at the academy of RCD Espanyol, starting successively
from the U-15, the U-17 and U- 19 teams of the club, where he stayed from 2008 till 2012. Then he assumed duties at the academy of Bahrain’s national team, leading the U-18 team to the third place of the respective league of the Gulf Cup held in Doha, Qatar. During 2015/16 season he went back to Spain for the National Youth team of Catalonia, before taking charge for the first time of Real Madrid’s U-18, during 2016/17 season and winning with them the championship. In summer 2017, Dani Poyatos accepted Jordi Cruyff’s proposal to be his assistant coach at Maccabi Tel Aviv’s first team. Under his instructions the Israeli club won the League Cup and finished the Championship in the second position. In July 2018, Poyatos agreed with Real Madrid to coach again the U-18 team; under his guidance the team won the championship, in the current season.
Marcel Sans Navarro was born on the 20th of February 1982 and has worked in several positions at FC Barcelona’s basic framework departments.
Miguel Gomila Andreu was born on the 23rd of May 1983, in the past he worked for CE. Lleida, RCD Espanyol and Espanyol B, Rubin Kazan, Akhmat Grozny FC and RCD Mallorca.
Josep Pascual Trabal was born on the 11th of November 1985 and has worked as a goalkeeper coach for Espanyol B, the Olympic Football team of Bahrain, Anortohosis FC, the National team of Catalonia, Al Ryyan FC and Toulouse FC.
