1970

The 1st Super Cup

This was the first time that Panathinaikos became a ... Super Champion. Being the Champion, the team was called to face Aris, the winner of the Cup, in Faliron.

The peculiarity of that match was that the Greek Football Federation allowed the teams to realize up to seven substitutions, as it happened in friendly matches! It was also astonishing that the scorer for Aris was a former Panathinaikos’ player.

1993

The 3rd Super Cup

One more Cup for Panathinaikos in that competition, which was also a revenge for the defeat from AEK at the final of that same competition, four years ago.

The winner was determined, thanks to Dimitris Saravakos’ goal. He scored following a foul straight into Ilias Atmatzidis’ nets. A new initiative introduced by Greek Football Federation was the match disputed between the veterans of both teams, before the final’s kick off.
