The “Greens” entered the game with a lot of strength, willing to “sweep it up” from the very beginning, without letting any possibility to their opponents even to think that they could gain a thing from that duel. With such a mentality the ball was moving constantly around and in-between Veria’s box, its players being unable to intercept the aggressiveness of the home team. It was more than obvious that scoring was a question of time. As a matter of fact, in the 21st minute the score was already 2-0, after a penalty-goal scored by Berg in the 18th minute and a shoot by Klonaridis after an assist by Berg three minutes later. In the mean time the Greek striker had the opportunity to score one more goal which was wrongly disallowed due to an erroneous off-side indication.

Mpoku’s injury, who suffered a concussion and was replaced in the 28th minute by Chatziyiovannis, did not curb Panathinaikos’ aggressiveness which continued in the same way and rhythm and scored two more goals till the end of the first half, in just a three minute period. Of course the Swede was again the … author! The championship’s top scorer scored again by another penalty in the 39th minute, after a hand touch of Antonian and again in the 41st minute after he transformed the vertical passing of Chatziyiovannis into a goal, through a successful shoot!

Despite the fact that the match was already appraised, the “Greens” kept the same aggressive rhythm during the second period, as well. The chances were succeeding one another, till the 57th minute, when Villafañes took advantage of a wrong save by the rival team´s defendants and scored a fifth goal (5-0) becoming one of that night’s scorers. The image of the match did not change till its end, neither the score, as Berg and Leto (he substituted Klonaridis in the 59th minute) did not score more goals in spite of the chances they have had.
