The raw of five consecutive victories ended on Saturday night for Panathinaikos. The Greens couldn’t score against the team of Lamia and thus the goalless draw was the final result of the duel. After five consecutive three pointers in the season the team of Lazlo Boloni lost the chance to close even more its gap and overpass the leading teams of the scoreboard.
The Greens let the whole first half without great achievements, as during the first 45 minutes they didn’t threat their opponents at all. The team of Lamia kept easily the hosts away of its box.
In the second half the image of the game changed. As Lazlo Boloni saw that his team couldn’t create dangerous situations before the rival goalposts, he did some changes. The trainer sent to the pitch Chatziyiovannis, Carlitos and Macheda. The entrance of these three players gave a sort of fresh air in Panathinaikos’ game.
Nevertheless, Carlitos, the Spanish striker, missed a nice chance to score in the 65th minute when Epassi saved his shoot and six minutes later he didn’t find the target again, following an assist by Chatziyiovannis.
Lamia’s goalie was very well prepared and could give an answer to every threat, even when Macheda missed a chance in the 76th minute, which was to be the last good opportunity for the Greens in the game.
During the last ten minutes, including the additional time, anxiety and nervousness dominated and thus the match couldn’t go on properly as the pauses were continuous. The result 0-0 remained till the last whistle of referee Tzilos. It is important to mention that Panathinaikos kept for one more game, in 2021, its goalposts intact.
