Panathinaikos was unstoppable and Aitor was unrestrained so the Shamrock celebrated its fifth consecutive victory in five matches in the Super League’s championship. The Greens were avalanching and won by 3-0 the team of PAS Yiannina at a home match held at Apostolos Nikolaides stadium and remained alone on the top of the scoreboard.
Aitor was “hot” scoring his fifth goal for the season, fifteen in total for Super League’s championship. The Spanish player highlighted in this match and achieved the first hat trick of his career, leading Panathinaikos toward an important victory!
Nevertheless the big enthusiasm in the stadium, due to the Green pressure to its rival, turned into sadness as Soulis, PAS’ goalkeeper, was seriously injured in the 22nd minute after a showdown with Sporar, which obliged him to leave the pitch on stretcher.
Back to the match, in the 44th minute, following a nice foul Aitor sent the ball to the rival nets opening the score (1-0). This was to be Aitor’s first goal by shooting a foul wearing the green shirt.
The Shamrock returned to the second half and in the 54th minute, Aitor again, executed a foul scoring for a second time. Being confident as the score was 2-0, Sarlija passed the ball to Ioannides who assisted Aitor by header. The Spaniard started a wonderful “gallop” and in the 70th minute drippled and shot scoring for a third time. The final score was 3-0, giving Panathinaikos strength and confidence.
