Nothing is going to stop us! Panathinaikos continued its frenetic route in the Super League. The Greens prevailed 1-0 over the team of Asteras Tripoli in a match held in the “hot” Leoforos stadium and celebrated their seventh consecutive victory in seven matches. The Shamrock had the same marvelous scorer again: outstanding Aitor scored again for a fourth time in a raw, achieving eight goals in total for this season’s championship.
The match appeared from the very beginning to be hard as Asteras entered the pitch in order to … destroy the rhythm. They succeeded for the first thirty minutes either by fouls or by pauses.
The Greens entered the second half aiming to break the defensive wall “built” by the players of Asteras. Finally, Panathinaikos’ pressure was fruitful in the 77th minute!’ Aitor was overthrown into the box and referee Papadopoulos, who didn’t see the play was informed by the VAR. He went straight to the screen to see what happened and allowed a penalty which was shot by unmistakable Aitor!
In the 83rd minute, Asteras Tripoli had to continue the match with 10 players as Tzouganovic was expelled after getting a second yellow card. The Greens could have “killed” the game much earlier. In the 93rd minute Bernard shot the ball out of the rival goalpost and in the 95th minute two consecutive shoots by Verbic were stopped twice by goalie Papadopoulos.
Enis Cokaj debuted in that game wearing Panathinaikos’ shirt!
