Lazlo Boloni was born on the 11th of March 1953 in the Romanian city of Targu Mures.
The career of Mr. Lazlo Boloni as a coach started when he was 41 with the French team AS Νancy. He stayed in the club of Lorraine for six years and succeed to promote the team to the First division. In 2000 he accepted a proposal from the Romanian National team and trained the Romanian Internationals for one year. His next stop was Lisbon and the local Sporting. During the two years of his stay in the Portuguese club he gained a double and a Super Cup. In 2003 he returned to France for Stade Rennais FC, which he led to the 4th position, the best position ever in the team’s history. In 2006 Mr. Boloni was hired by Monaco, but the bad start caused the termination of his collaboration with the Monegasques. In summer 2007 he moved to Qatar for Al-Jazira Sporting Club. A year later he came back to Europe and joined the Belgian team of Standard Liege. During the almost two years there he won one more title. Then he moved to another continent again, although he stayed for a very short period, to coach Al Wahda in the United Arab Emirates. Back to Europe, in January 2011, he started training the French RC Lens, trying to keep the team in the first division without success. In 2011-12 season he sat on the bench of PAOK Thessaloniki with which he reached the round of the “32” for Europa League´s competition. In 2012 he returned to Qatar for Al Khor SC and in 2015 he moved to Saudi Arabia for Al Ittihad FC. He returned to Europe in 2017 to work for the Belgians of Royal Antwerp FC. He stayed in the team of the Belgian port for three years, winning a Cup and having the team participating in the European competitions. In summer 2020 he was hired by the team of KAA Gent where he stayed for two months.
