Panathinaikos FC announces the contract extension of Filip Djuricic. The Serbian midfielder signed his new contract, which is valid until June 2026.
Philip joined Panathinaikos in the summer of 2023. He has recorded a total of 64 appearances and 13 goals with our club’s jersey. In the current season, he is the team’s top scorer so far.
Shortly after signing his new contract, Filip stated: “I am very happy about the renewal of my contract. We didn’t have to talk much to agree, nor did we have to negotiate much, because my desire to stay at Panathinaikos was strong. When I came to Panathinaikos, I had in mind to compete in European competitions, which happened, and to win the championship, where we are on a good path. Last year was an adjustment year for me. I started very well, but the rest was not as good. I learned what I need to focus on and what I need to do in order to help the team and improve. This year, things are going much better and we are halfway through the season or thereabouts, if we reach the Conference League final! My goal is to maintain the same good level throughout the season. When I started playing football, my goal was to play for the Serbian national team. And I achieved it. Now my goal is to compete in the Champions League groups, which I hope will happen to Panathinaikos. The people of the club deserve to live this experience and I hope it happens through winning the championship. It would be perfect! I feel grateful for all the people of the club, from the caretakers to the technical director and even the president, because everyone has embraced me and I feel very good at Panathinaikos. This is one of the reasons I wanted to stay. Because here we are a family! Also, I have now learned how to manage some situations so that I don’t waste energy on things that don’t matter. The people of Panathinaikos know that I always give my best, we have an honest relationship, whether the results are good or not. I had offers, even now in the winter, from other clubs, but I knew where I wanted to be and I want to be here.”
