Panathinaikos FC announces the signing of the Spanish defender Fran Velez. The 29 year old player has signed a 3 year contract.
Fran was born on the 23rd of June 1991 in Tarragona, Spain. From an early age he joined the academy of Jimnastic, a team from Tarragona, where he also did his professional debut at the age of 18. When he was 20 he went on loan to Logroñes where he had a full season. In 2012 he returned to Jimnastic as a starting lineup player. In 2013 he was transferred to Almeria and did his first steps to the Primera Division. In this debut he scored the winning goal in the away match victory against Espanyol. He remained in the team of Almeria during four seasons and in 2017 he moved to Poland to play for Wisla Krakow, where he was a starting player in most of this Polish team’s games. In 2018 he was convinced to come to Greece to play for Aris Salonica FC. He stayed in Salonica for two seasons and participated in more than 50 games, being the team’s captain.
