Panathinaikos FC announces the acquirement of the Portuguese offensive midfielder Antonio Xavier. The 28 year old player signed a three year contract.
Xavier was born on the 6th of July 1992 in the city of Guimaraes, Portugal. From a very young age he joined Vitoria Guimaraes’ academy. In July 2011 he moved to Tourizense and did his professional debut wearing this team’s colors.
In July 2012 he started playing for Braga’s second team. During the first semester of 2013/14 season he went on loan to CD Feirense; in the second semester of that season he played for Leixoes SC.
The next step in his career was Madeira island’s CS Maritimo, a team with which he scored four times in 67 games, in the Portuguese league. In July 2017 he signed for FC Paços de Ferreira for which he played in 33 matches. During the two last seasons he played for CD Tondela where in 2018/19 season he scored 3 goals in 32 games and in 2019/20 season he scored 1 goal in 24 games.
